Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said that the EU will allocate €1 billion for the Western Balkan countries through the IPA funds by 2020, while another €10 billion will be invested in regional projects.
One of several priorities in the sphere of energy and transport policy is Corridor 10, from Zagreb to Greece, he said.
First Deputy Prime Minister met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Evangelos Venizelos, to discuss ways for Serbia’s progress in European integration by the end of the Greek presidency of the EU.
Dacic and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini reached an agreement on his visit to Rome, after Italy takes over the EU presidency on July 1 this year.
Dacic announced that during his visit to Rome the schedule of opening negotiation chapters Serbia with the EU will be agreed on.
The meeting in Thessaloniki Greece, organised by the Greek presidency of the EU, symbolically marked the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the Thessaloniki agenda, which paved the way for the European integration of the Western Balkans.(The Srpska Times)
