Dodik: Srpska does not condone violence but is ready to defend itself

Milorad Dodik

Laktasi – Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that Srpska was not taking any violent action or making preparations for a war, but that no one should doubt that it was ready to defend its territory.
Dodik says that the statements by Sefer Halilovic, a former general of the so-called Army of BiH, are wrong and needless and that Bosniaks are terribly mistaken if they think that Republika Srpska is not ready and capable of defending itself.

“If they do that, that would only accelerate our road to independence and any such attempt would definitely evict us from BiH in which we would not stay any minute longer,” Dodik told reporters in Laktasi commenting on Halilovic’s threats with armed conflict in BiH and claims that Republika Srpska “could not withstand a possible conflict for more than 10 to 15 days.”

Dodik says that the IC was informed of all these things since the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Bakir Izetbegovic, two months ago informed western ambassadors of the arming of Bosniaks and estimates of arms in the possession of Republika Srpska, which indicates that Halilovic’s statement is not an accident and that it is a part of their general approach.

“We know that everything that Halilovic told us is being discussed by the Bosniak political leadership and exists as their option and desire to expel Serbs from BiH in such a way,” Dodik said.

He says that Republika Srpska was brought in BiH and that warmongering statements are but a proof of their desire to resolve something this way here.

“But this is not the way and Republika Srpska does not condone it. All its options are political, without a single war option,” the Republika Srpska President has said.
