Nikolic: Serbia duty bound to take care to preserve Srpska

Belgrade – Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said that Serbia will do nothing to destabilise Bosnia & Herzegovina, but that it has a duty to take care to preserve Republika Srpska in keeping with the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“Serbia does not doubt that reconciliation must occur in the region. However, one must have in mind that elections are nearing in BiH, and that politicians in election campaigns present themselves as protectors of their own people relative to the other two,” Nikolic said on its Twitter account.

He said that “once the cameras are off, politicians in BiH cooperate very well,” and that some of them are “even close friends.” “I don’t know why they do not transfer this friendship to the people as well,” Nikolic said.
